We regret to inform everyone that Barking Spider is closed...
We did what we could but didn't make enough of a foot hold in the community and so we are calling it quits for now. I am still throwing and modding just not under the Barking Spider or Professor Roderick Likeman names.
Thank you to those the supported, and continue to support us.
Maybe down the road we will give it another try but for now...
Cheers.

How far would you go?
How far is a yo-yoer willing to go to get that yo-yo? You know the one, limited production and only half were the bearing size you like. Would you save up for it? Would you trade some precious belongings for it? Would you use one of your onedrop mod fodder kits to make your own? Wait what? Make your own? You bet ya. I give you the Split Decision Y-Factor:
The base yo-yo weighs in at 49g which is only 2 grams heavier than the actual Split Decision. All other dimensions match the Split D exactly. This baby plays for keeps. No vibe or wobble and for kicks I put in a gold bearing and so it spins for days.

The Professor goes to NY
This past weekend I was flown to the Big Apple for a video shoot for the upcoming yo-yo documentary Strings. The trip was exhausting but a lot of fun. Thanks to Dawn Schwartz for being such a graceous host and flying me out there. I speak for a lot of people in the Yo-yoing Community when I say I am very excited to see the final product.

Split Decision Rims...Round 2
Where am I going with this? Well one of the things I got to play with the the Split Decision, a new and coming yo-yo from Werrd. He showed me the different Delrin rims that were going to be available but then he completely through me for a loop when he put on some Yomega Saberwing rims. My eyes lit up and I had to play with it.
Thanks Mark for being an inspiration.
Thanks for looking...
ECC Boston, MA Video
The East Coast Classic was held in Boston, MA. While in the area Alex Curfman met up with a group of high class individuals and they made a yo-yo video. Here it is for your enjoyment.

Split Decision Rims...
Werrd makes some of the best and most sought after yo-yoes in the World. One of them is the Split Decision. This yo-yo has an extremely well crafted aluminum hub that has everything a yo-yo needs. What makes this yo-yo unique is the ability to remove and replace the machined delrin rims to tailor the yo-yo to different styles of play. The idea was that Werrd would offer replacement rims for different styles and colors. These customizing rims are just as sought after as the yo-yo itself.
This weekend since I couldn't go to Boston for the Triple Crown of Yo-yo East Coast Classic I took it to the mod table and came up with a pair of 1A replacement rims for the Werrd Split Decision.

What I was trying to accomplish with these was to take the aluminum hub and add white delrin rims that would match the width, diameter, and weight dimensions of the ever popular CLYW Peak.
The rings are tightly press fit to the aluminum hub so there is no need to put an o-ring or string in the groove on the rims of the hub.
I chamfered the IRG so for those that like to thumb grind will grind on just the aluminum behind the rim rather that both aluminum and plastic, possibly slowing down your grind.
